Cleaning Out The Stables - One Diocese At A Time

Defaced Image of Pharaoh Hatchetsut - Karnak

Seeing the recent press release at the beginning of August, press dump from the swamp, the Diocese of Harrisburg of all the constipated backed up hidden shit, clergy abuse of kids, for decades in the all male clergy's club I have to wonder at the recent decision of Bishop Gainer of Harrisburg to purge the names from all buildings and hospital wings and glory holes of the names of the hierarchy that did little or nothing to prevent the abuse of children. And I know that Bishop McFadden was not in Harrisburg long enough to do anything good, bad or indifferent to change anything in that diocese after fucking up so gloriously in the his efforts to cover up clergy abuse in Philly.

Whitewashing over the names of various Hatshepsut like RC bishops lends itself to the saying of Edmund Burke "Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it."

AMERICAN RC BISHOP'S CREDO:

The road to paradise is lined with the skulls, bones and broken wasted lives of the innocent.

My friend Dave says that the Allentown Diocese Abuse News Dump happens next week or so. He is not Catholic but lives in that territory and is deeply saddened by the state of the RC church end of X-tianity.

As noted before Bishop John Barres has no doubt finished his work in Allentown and probably after Harrisburg as well and has moved onto to Bishop of Rockville Centre on Long Island to clean up the mess of Bishop William "Mansion" Murphy, fan and student of the late Cardinal Law.

Rockville Center by the way is the diocese of two the the four counties on Long Island, counties of Nassau and Suffolk, and excluding Queens and Kings (Brooklyn) counties.

Reading through the carefully manicured Wikipedia bio of Bishop McFadden I am struck of what I do not see and can from memory possibly read between the lines.

Bishop Joseph McFadden

McFadden then attended St. Joseph's University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in politics in 1969.[3] He played on the freshmen basketball team at St. Joseph's, and also coached at St. Thomas More High School and West Catholic Boys High School.[2]Following his graduation from St. Joseph's, he joined the faculty of West Catholic Boys High School, where he taught social studies.[6] In addition to his teaching duties, he coached the junior varsity basketball team and served as the school's athletic director.[6]

In 1976, McFadden decided to study for the priesthood, a vocation he had considered "through high school and when [he] went to college."[3]

One - It was St. Joseph's College (Jesuits) when he graduated from it.

Two - Crunching the numbers, his parish was in Overbrook with the Seminary, he could have avoided peers from high school who did the seminary thing in eight years, peers from senior and junior year in high school by going through at a later date. Just saying.

Three - was he asked to leave as Athletic Director at West Catholic? Vetting on resumes such a loose thing back then and of course we are talking Christian Brothers at West Catholic. "Mums the word Joe. Now hit the road"?

I say the three item because I remember an incident from my senior year in high school. Of the brother High School being taught by the same teaching order at my High School.

I say the three item because I cannot after much research and or "search" under many different tags cannot find the story of the basketball coach at the other high school inviting the team over at the end of the season for a party and sleep over at the coach's house and distributing beer no doubt to the boys and "yawn" sleeping arrangements having the star player of basketball team sharing coach's double bed.

And the star player running out of the house after being awoken by a groping naked coach and going home reporting it to his parents and one's parents reporting it to the police. Or so the salacious details reported in the local papers. Just because I cannot easily find this story on the Internet from 1970 or so, it does not mean that the Internet has been purged and or no longer exists. Merely that certain editions of the same newspapers were no doubt not imaged etc. There might also be a gag order still in place, privacy and all that etc.

The incident I remember because first period senior year was Physics and the Physics teacher was our high school's basketball coach, an unmarried young (draft deferred) male lay teacher. I remember his face being beet red in class and all day long when I saw him passing by his homeroom classroom and saw him coming out of the faculty dining room off the student's cafeteria. I am guessing his flushed face was the reaction to stares all day from students and faculty and he being somehow representative or connected to the scandalous story from our brother high school. To see the world differently or to be seen differently - oh what a treat.

But who did the vetting when Joe McFadden entered St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Overbrook, Philadelphia btw?

Wink. Nod. ?

Shrug.

Open Letter to David O'Reilly, The Inquirer Regarding Abp Chaput's Unconditional Support of Trump

A Real Bishop of Philadelphia - John Neumann 1852-1860

Mr. David O'Reilly, Correspondent Philly.Com The Inquirer

BTW Grats on your long and no doubtless rewarding meal ticket career.

I am writing this as an open letter because Charles Chaput complains about the media not fawning like they should be in a Fascist Slave Nation that Trump and his cadre of Nazi haters envision for the USA.

“I don’t want to be partisan in my comments here, but it seems to me if we are really serious about our common responsibilities, we support the president,” Archbishop Charles Chaput told the California-based talk show host Hugh Hewitt, a Catholic conservative.

I think your boutique journalism piece above about Chaput latest whining about something or other is more an infomercial for the California Hewitt Radio show than it is about the media or Trump.

That Chaput is the force behind the California Fascist Catholic / "Christianist" organization of The Napa Institute promoting secret functions where church as state are one in the Fascist Vision of a future or is it now America.

I have been watching your topic Charles Chaput since he tossed two first graders into the street in Denver in Father Breslin's parish because the two kids moms were moms and or lesbian.

He ranted and raved I believe more about MSNBC and probably on Fox News in 2011 to say that the American Media were anti-catholic for not reporting on a World Youth Day in Spain that year.

That was the cover story that I believe after some research was a response to some so-called desecration of a state owned chapel in the State Controlled Complutense University in Madrid.

That the background on lesbians making political points in a political theatre of a state owned and supported chapel was a response in fact that an anti-gay Gang(s) of devoted Catholic Fascists patrolled the campus at night with clubs to make certain no gays would meet in public in a public university after dark. Gay reactions to violence against gays and ignored/endorsed by the police was the other half of that Chaput story. Chaput is only interested in half truths IMO. etc.

I am also not fond of "Chief Outtatown" my terrible non-PC label for this carpetbagger archbishop in Philly. If the media can ignore personal insults like "Pocahantas" by a warped mental case of a so-called President for the female senator Elizabeth Warren, why am I wrong in calling this bigot a name that fits his so-call heritage.

But I really disliked this dude when he came up with a political agenda to attack JFK in the grave for his separation of church and state stance and in lines with the upcoming 2012 elections. Something about attacked dead Dem Prezs by the GOP like FDR with the 22nd amendment. Irony with that was that Eisenhower, Nixon if he had cleaned up his act, and Reagan could have probably gone for though not done third terms, but not in St. Ronny's case. RIP

Sorry that BXVI had to retire for senility and sorry that Chuck did not get his red hat as promised because of this new possibly more moderate pope F1.

As I remember the local newspapers, TV and radio in the day would fawn at the sight a Philly archbishop deigning to step half a foot out of the old 10 acre Cardinal Dougherty 61 room Bishop's Palace on City Line Avenue to give the media their 30 second soundbite or half a column hardcopy interviews. I believe that lent as much to the recent Philly unpleasantness of abuse by clergy thingy as much as internal Catholic hierarchy mismanagement. Whatever.

Monsignor Lynn, Clergy Pedophile Enabler, Bribed Out Of Jail? Philadelphia the Most Corrupt Archiocese in North America?

On the one hand your have.

”The Philadelphia archdiocese says it doesn't change its pledge to protect children and remove abusive priests.” (yeah right)

And then you have a bunch of typical greasy palmed Pennsylvania judges sayings that Monsignor Lynn is not responsible for the welfare of children in the archdiocese. How fucking convenient.

Cake and Eat It Too.

They don't call Charlie - "Chaput the Fixer" for nothing (-$).

Monsignor William Lynn has served 18 months in prison after a jury found he endangered a boy by helping protect a predator-priest. But an appeals court on Thursday overturned the child endangerment conviction, saying Lynn was not legally responsible for the boy's welfare.

Lynn's lawyers hoped the 62-year-old Lynn would go free, but the Superior Court has instead sent the bail issue back to the trial court.

Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams vows to oppose bail and appeal the ruling.

Victims' advocates are outraged by the ruling.
