There were several residences of George Washington as first
president in New York and Philadelphia.
All except one, a summer residence in Philly, have been torn down and are nearly forgotten. These images are of a replica of
the President’s House during his tenure in Phila 1790-1797. It was built for
the Sesquicentennial (150 Years) Exposition in Philly in 1926. It too was torn down after that Exposition.
